Despite being raised in a dysfunctional, absent family, Crysta's shy, lonely personality has change drastically. She now finds more comfort in being with her friends then being by herself in an art class room. The usually quiet daughter who keeps to herself is now a social, talkative girl. Although she won’t talk to a complete stranger for no reason, she will try to get to know someone she’s acquaintances with or help anyone who needs help. That’s one of the reasons she has many of her friends. She is not judgmental but if she disagrees with you she’ll tell you. The girl isn't as close to as approachable as most girls are, but she it up with, friendliness and confidence. Of course, this means she knows her looks are intimidating, whether you're admiring her from afar or you've glanced her from the corner of your eye.
At first glance, many think Crysta's your stereotypical popular, mean girl, but she is far from it. The Black Dahlia's have toughened her up beyond her wildest dreams and helped her use her looks to her advantage. Although, she thinks she isn't anything special to look at, she can portray a seductive, flirtatious girl who wants to hook up, and after getting you to believe her act, she'll stab you in the back (quiet literally). After being raised in a dysfunctional home, Crysta has developed a sick thrill of hurting people emotionally. She rarely ever does it, unless she truly despises you, but when she does, you'll realize everything you though about this girl was wrong.

»BITTERSWEET HISTORY•
Crysta was born during a warm afternoon in San Antonio, Texas born four days later then expected. Her mother had been with her father for the past year after becoming pregnant during her senior year. There was false love at the beginning of their parenthood, making promises that they'd be together forever and raise plenty of kids while trying to balance college and jobs, but the promises quickly broke. Danielle spent her days raising her kids, while Michael balanced a minimum wage job and several girls he was seeing on the side. In the beginning of Crysta and her brother childhood, they were fatherless, for the most part. Michael was always either on "business trips" or too "tired" to come home and deal with kids. Danielle tried to raise her two children with the help of her parents, and tried to spend as much time at home as she could. As she got older and her parents bought their own house, Crysta felt as if her mom and brother were her best friends. School wasn't hard for her but making friends was. She was the shy child, who always feared the spotlight, while her brother flourished with friends.
Despite feeling alone at school, Crysta hated being at home. Her father had become unemployed when she turned twelve and started to take his anger out on his family. He never hit Crysta once, but he tormented her. His words were harsher then what the popular girls at school said about her. Her father made her feel worthless and she felt as if she had no one to go to. Her mother always ignored her or left whenever Crysta tried to talk to her about it. After months of putting up with her fathers words, Crysta started to cut herself and smoke weed with older friends after school. She knew nothing good would come of it, but it was one of her ways to escape home life. Soon, she turned to art class for another escape. Her drawings had always been praised but not to this recognition. Many of her paintings and drawing were entered into art contest around town and at first, she thought nothing of it. Her home life was becoming more unbearable, her mother was becoming more absent, and she had started taking harder, more "sketchy" drugs. A few weeks after her fourteenth birthday, Jason, who had been growing more concerned of his sisters behavior and different personality, brought his parents together where they decided she needed help. While Crysta attended a rehab center for a drug and cutting addiction, her parents lied to friends, saying she was at a private school for the arts. After a few month in the center, Crysta came back to school, different. She wouldn't take any drugs her friends offered her, she stopped cutting, and during the few months in rehab she got more attractive. She started acting like a robot at home, but started to show a new, confident personality at school. She was putting any built up frustration into her artwork and flirting with guys or girls, and was soon offered a spot at Cathedral High. Without hesitation, she accepted, only regretting that she couldn't bring her brother.
Now, attending for the past four years, Crysta isn't at all how she used to be. She's become more social, flirty, but also more manipulative. She has gained a sick thrill of hurting and betraying people, just as her father hurt her and how her mother betrayed her. Despite her contradicting personality at the end of her sophomore year, she joined The Black Dahlia's. The group made her feel like she was special, like she was worth something and despite witnessing a few horrible things at the meetings, Crysta is proud to be a part of them. She has learned to use a pocket knife from another member, "just in case" although she knows the real motives of her newly acquired skill. Now in her senior year Crysta has climbed the ranks and has become a powerful, respected member. Despite her new found power, Crysta is growing tired of keeping her secret, and seeing as it's her last year at Cathedral High, she has been contemplating telling someone. Will Crysta be able to keep quiet and survive the year or will her her big mouth cost her, her life?
