joey loves to have fun. plain and simple. he's extremely outgoing, and sometimes very overbearing. he wouldn't be described as the most..subtle person. he'll drape himself all over the nearest attractive person he can find, and most likely attempt to have sex with them.

this being said, he is an extremely skilled athlete, and quite a smart person. he is a trained black belt in tae kwando, a trophy winning runner, skilled at archery, shooting, kickboxing and swordfighting.

joey grew up in one of new york's biggest crime families, extremely wealthy and completely in the know that he would be taking over the buisness when he was older.

joey was sent to martial arts training, to archery, and kickboxing classes, hoping that this would prep him for later on in life when he would surely take over the family buisness. he knew what joseph senior did, being surrounded by guards 24-7 and all the buisness 'meetings' that went on, how could he not? he didn't seem to mind all that much. he did extremely well in school, made his father very proud, because you have to be clever to work in this industry.

when joseph hit his teen years, he started to go out with his friends more and more, staying out partying all night. he would usually stumble back to the house in the morning, completely wasted, having been found at somebody's house, or a nightclub which he had used their name to get into. his father wasn't happy with this. he imported and exported drugs and alcohol, but he never wanted anyone in his family to get addicted.

as joey got older, his father started getting bills from random hotels and hooker companies, people needing money that was under joseph seniors name. he didn't have any recollection of sleeping with any of these people, so he figured, with joey's recent track record, that it must have had something to do with him. his father went to talk to him about it, but instead, he found him in his room, completely fucked on heroin, from the stash that hadn't yet been exported. his father had his men check the stash, and they found that there was a lot more drugs missing, not just heroin, but crack cocaine, weed, crystal meth and ecstasy.

joseph couldn't possibly have been using this all himself, and his father confronted him, whilst he was high, hoping that he might get some information out of him. he confessed that he had been stealing the drugs and selling them on to make some money. joseph senior realised that he had a problem, and, for the sake of their family name, he kept him under lock and key, making him suffer through the withdrawals as punishment, allowing him out of his room only to be homeschooled by the teachers, and further his training.

he became widely known for being so good, and he was offered a place at cathdral high.
